Fixed Prosthodontics

1. All ceramics and veneers

Patient presented with unsatisfied appearance of two lateral incisors, right lateral (#7) was restored with veneer and left lateral (#10) was restored with Procera all ceramic crown. Alignment of the teeth were able to be corrected with the prosthetic treatment approach.

2. Cast gold restorations

Over twenty five year inlays shown on the upper teeth.

3. Surveyed crowns were fabricated for retaining and supporting a mandibular Removable Partial Denture

Case 1

Severely caries abutment teeth requiring root canal treatment, crown lengthening and cast post and core prior to insertion of surveyed crowns. Mandibular Removable Partial Denture and Maxillary Complete Denture upon completed treatment.

Case 2

Poor marginal integrity caused caries under right gold crown. A surveyed porcelain fused-to-metal crown was fabricated in corrected occlusal plane. Maxillary Complete Denture and Mandibular Removable Complete Denture upon completion of treatment.

4. Fixed partial Dentures (Bridges)

Case 1

Patient is dissatisfied with the blackening margin of the existing fixed partial denture. Noticed the improvement in margin, esthetics and contour of the new restoration.

Case 2

This restoration was fabricated on a 86-year old woman with clinically acceptable result.

Case 3

Fixed partial denture not only will replace the missing tooth and restore the esthetics, but will also prevent the posterior tooth from drifting (space maintainer).

5. Root canal treated (RCT) tooth

Tooth # 20 (second left premolar) was root canal treated due to irreversible pulpitis/sub-acute peri-radicular periodontitis.

Tooth was prepared for a gold cast post core and porcelain fused to metal crown. Provisional in place, tooth with cast post core seated, and final restoration in place.

Root canal treatment was performed by Ali Etemad, DDS, MS (Pacific Endodontics, Seattle, Wa.)

Porcelain fused to metal crown and gold cast post core were fabricated by Barney Martens, CDT (Kodent Dental Laboratory, Renton, Wa.)
